DrawPortal : Draw together for strong online relationship.

draw together

Working long contracts away from the family was a challenge. We did our best with the digital tools that our generation is lucky to have. Besides the usual socials and chat we settled on playing @drawsomething and @wordchums, two great games where one can be creative and have fun. But doing something across the screen with a toddler proved beyond challenging. When we lived together under one roof I liked to doodle with my little daughter. This was always a good time for both of us. One of my own fondest memories is drawing together with my father. Drawing together with my kid is something I really wanted to continue doing even when 1000’s of kilometers apart. So I looked at some internet whiteboards (see drawesome.uy, aggie.io, malmal.io). They are great, but definitely more suitable for adults. I quickly realized that what I really needed at that moment didn’t exist. And then Covid-19 came, giving respite from overseas contracts, as well as some free time to code. In a few months DrawPortal was born.

We see DrawPortal as a great tool to strengthen any kind of relationship. The emphasis in DrawPortal is on having fun with a live visual connection. We hope DrawPortal allows friends, parents, kids and couples to enrich their long distance relationships with creativity, warmth and joy.
